My Friends,
We would love to see you this summer.
Bass Lake Climate
As we all know, California has seen its share of harsh climate in the past few years. From severe drought to El Nino, our climate seems to have difficulty finding a happy medium.
When it rains, it pours, right? While I am not big on this cliché (or any cliché for that matter, unless the late-great Yogi Berra is spewing them out), it has relevance this year.
The weather pattern in Bass Lake has been extreme, to say the least. We are not getting just rain, but we are getting storms that drop 5 inches in 24 hours.
A Full Bass Lake Cali for 2016
A full lake this year will not be a problem.
And some of the added benefits…well, let me tell you some pretty cool news.
Severe or extreme rains tend to wash the sediment out from the Falls area, where it has been building for years due to the trickle of water coming in.
When a Dam is built, this is inevitable. Heavy rains act as if there is no Dam for a while.
These rains add oxygen, and also knock additional food sources into the rivers and lake, allowing the fish a buffet, kind of an ‘all you can eat’ for one low price.
Translation, the fishing will be ‘dank’.
2016 Bass Lake Fishing will be Dank?
I don’t know about ‘dank’. It’s what my 15 year old says. I guess it means the bomb, off the charts, good, etc.
Last El Nino in 1996/97, I caught a Trout, Crappie and Bass right in front of our office in three casts. No lie. No really, no ‘fishing’ lie, I really did.
Fishing this year, without a doubt, will be VERY good.
Bring your poles when you vacation. Buy some at the store. Or rent them here. But we are gonna do some fishin’! Think Bubba Gump!
Bigger Bass Lake: The Coves are Back
With a full lake, our lake will be larger and our beloved coves will be back.
Rather than all of us share the only cove available (like last year in Willow Cove), you can have your own this year.
And you don’t have to share. I don’t care what your parents said, you don’t have to share if you don’t want to.
Picture that cove, with your boat. BBQ is sizzlin’. Tunes are a crankin’. And the kids are occupied.
Not with their electronics, but skipping rocks in the water. Or beating each other with a stick.
Either way, you can’t get this anywhere but here.
Your vacation. Your great day with the family. Your boating experience. Come experience family fun just around the corner.
Hope to see you soon.
Thank You
Tom, Tammy, North and Daytona.
